Protect your corporate reputation with a quick media training session in your living room

Every election year I think about this and every election year (it seems) I post about it.

Media training and politicians.

No one is better at demonstrating an ability to quickly stay on message during a media interview, never repeat the negative and get a point across in quick, 30-second sound bites. It is a skill that is absolutely critical to protecting and forwarding a company’s corporate reputation, just as it’s critical to a politician’s quest for elected office.

With the 24-hour news cycle and the contentious campaigns and elections that we’ll experience in 2012, a quick media training primer is as close as your television.

There are many politicians who are very good at quickly dispensing with a line of questions, then “bridging” to their message. But few are as good at it as President Obama.

So, if you have an interview coming up and want a quick refresher on how to stay on message, just take a quick stroll into the living room and turn on your television.
