Early on, after seeing someone tweet about propping up an iPad and using a keyboard with it, it sniped back, “Isn’t that kind of like a laptop that can do less?”

After having one for a day, I stand corrected. Reading a newspaper, browsing videos, checking email and lots of other little functions are delightful with an iPad. So I must admit that despite the parodies, and the criticisms (many true) the iPad is an impressive and compelling device.

We bought one for “pool” use at the agency. (I’m keeping it for the first week.) The goal is to stay in touch with the latest technology.Yes, I am sure that the second generation iPad will correct some of the deficiencies of the first, a camera, for example. The technology is captivating regardless. My guess is, after this one gets passed around a bit, we’ll be getting another.

If you do buy an iPad get the Apple case immediately. Without it, using the iPad is kind of like trying to carry a slippery fish around your kitchen.
