It seems fitting to begin this year with a nod back to 2009, specifically to my post of December 21st. Despite some shifts that are already well underway, our basic tasks at CharlestonOrwig are much the same.
- Retain all existing clients
- Improve staff knowledge and capability
- Develop programs and relationships that will foster new business
- Continue as an employer of choice
- Manage for profit
One of my colleagues pointed out that we want to retain clients and deepen our relationships. True. Another has ideas on how to specifically focus efforts as we improve knowledge and capability. A team of managers has refined and further focused our new business program. As to being an employer of choice, we’re looking for more ways to involve employees, looking forward to reviewing results of an employee survey and have added flexibility to our leave policy. Finally, we cannot do any of this without making a profit. While we are thankful for what was achieved in 2009, we fully expect profit to improve along with the economy in 2010. (Yes, we are optimistic.)
Here’s to a great 2010!
