While I might not agree with all their positions, I have to say that a group called Youth Noise has an interesting approach to getting young people involved in community. I stumbled across them the other night after they showed up as a follower on my Twitter account. Here’s their “about” description:
“YN is a social networking site for people under the age of 27 who like to connect based on deeper interests than Paris Hilton’s wardrobe and want to get engaged within a cause. Find a cause, join the discussion and get involved.”
I clicked around their site and found a few things that caused me to raise my eyebrows and a few others that caused me to think. As a client recently mused in an e-mail exchange about a group targeting her industry, there are plenty of organizations out there who “work hard to keep our world in balance.”
Probably true and probably good.
